No More Pee Please!

This is a PS to the previous post. The dog peed in our bed again last night while I was sitting there reading. We think she might have another bladder infection, so back to the vet. She is just like another kid except she's not covered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield. AHHHHH! I was up till 1:00 am doing more laundry. I am really tired, but it will all be ok.

Just a crazy post

Just a quick little crazy post about my weekend. Something in my friend, Mel's most recent post made me think of what I did all day on Saturday. Or, maybe it was my friend Heth's title of her blog, From Under the laundry pile. Well, here's the story.
Thursday, early morning, crying little girl- wet comforter!! Comforter goes to laundry room, does not get done.
Thursday night, crying mommy - dog has peed on my comforter. Too late for laundry, comforter goes to laundry room, does not get done.
Friday, early morning, crying little girl - wet sheets. Wet sheets stay on bed because day is crazy.
Friday night, bedtime still no clean sheets or comforters. Find alternate but too small sheets to spread over bed and alternate comforter so kids can just go to bed.
Friday night, a little later. "Husband, please take little girl to bathroom so she does not wet bed", says Mother. He does not.
Friday night, a little more later. Crying little girl- wet everything - no clean anything to be found, kids must sleep on couch blankets spread on bed. And, now crying crabby Mommy.
Saturday morning - Mommy sleeps in, new found energy, all sheets, blankets and comforters get washed. Beds are made! YAY!!!
Saturday afternoon, freshly made bed, large yellow wet spot, guilty looking dog and very angry mommy!!! Sheets and mattress cover back into wash, back into dryer and back onto bed all before bed time.
Saturday night, Mommy's bedtime. Clean, cool, crisp sheets. Set my sleep number to 35 and drift away knowing little girl has on a pull-up and dog is in the kennel.

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday, June 20 was Bill's and my Anniversary. Eight years of wedded bliss. Almost 11 years of being together. I really love him more today than I did eight years ago, and more than I ever thought I would. We have learned a lot about committment, forgiveness, laughter and tears over our few short years.
We got to have some time alone on Monday night. We shipped the kids out and made a nice leisurely dinner. Bill got me a 3-D puzzle of the Eiffel Tower. Yes, I thought it was very romantic. So we did that for a while. We decided to go get a video earlier in the evening, so we did that next. As I got in the car, I noticed there was already a video under my seat. Bill said he had tried to surprise me with "Pride and Predjudice" but I had said I wasn't really in the mood for that, so we would go get something else. I thought that was sweet. But, then he drove right by the turn to the video store. Not unusual for my directionally impaired husband (by the way, this is his worst attribute). Then he turned around and drove right by the actual video store. Now I was getting a little peturbed. But, he kept driving. We live in a small town and everything is pretty much on one street. So, I see the movie theater up the street and start to get suspicious. He's taking me to a movie. How sweet. I look closely at the show times and there are none left?! What is going on? We enter the theater as my husband reassures me not to worry. The owner is there and takes our video (I was quickly in a P&P kind of mood). My wonderful hubby had rented out the theater for us to watch a movie ALL BY OURSELVES!!!! Is he awesome or what?!?
Now for those of you who live in the same town as us, this is apparently not a common practice by our theater. Bill happens to know the owner and they have done some work together, so it was a sort of "under the table" kind of thing. Which I guess it makes it even more special. Anyway, we had a wonderful time celebrating our years behind us and looking forward to our years ahead.

Two for Togetherness for a long, long time

This last weekend I drove three hours with my sister to pick up her husband from his mother's house. His father just passed away a few days ago after many years of being ill. We sat with his mom, sister-in-law and all our children, looking at old pictures of his family and talking about his dad. It was so incredible to look at the wedding pictures from 42 years ago and hear Carol speak of her husband. She talked about how handsome he was and how well he cared for his hands. The tenderness and love in her voice was beautiful and touching. I hope I have this kind of gentle and tender love after 42 years.
Following our brief visit, we drove another hour to celebrate my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary and my grandfather's 80th birthday. Again, I listened as my grandparents spoke of their love and marriage. They shared stories of how they met, their first date, their first kiss (same day as their first date), their 30 day engagement, their chilvary following the wedding and honeymoon (camping in a farmer's field in Missouri), and many more. Their voices, too, were tender and sweet. Their eyes would occasionally fill with tears of love and joy as they spoke of their many years of ministry to the Lord and raising their family. They expressed their pride in their children and grandchildren.
It was an amazing weekend that offers me hope and joy for my own marriage and family. I look forward to being able to celebrate many years with my husband and in honor of him, Gerald Sager and my grandparents, Wilma and Willis I write this meme.

1. How intelligent he is. He is so smart and doesn't even know it sometimes, but his brain must work in an amazing way.

1. A custom built home that he would never have to do any repairs to or yardwork.
2. The sweetest in-home, sound proof theater so he could watch all his favorite movies really loud.

1. Our talks after dinner

1. Wow, his head is really white but really cute.
2. I'll go tell him how cute he is and hopefully he will feel better about having just shaved his head.

2 favorite dates
1. Our first date getting lost going to downtown Tulsa and then to Java Dave's on Riverside and then to the bridge over the Arkansas river. It was there that we saw his old girlfriend and I slipped my arm into his to try to make her jealous. It was also the day I knew I was looking at my future husband.
2. Going to Eureka Springs, AR during "War Eagle"...by accident.
